JOURNEY TOWARD HEALING- WE ARE HERE FOR YOU

They teach, listen and provide support from the” inside out”.  Patti Williams, R.N. and Certified Pastoral Bereavement Counselor and Dr. Virginia Waters, PhD psychologist have both experienced the loss of their spouses and family members and are walking the journey toward wholeness every day of their lives.  Through their knowledge and first hand experience, they offer genuine empathy and unique insight, as they lead the grief and loss support group every Sunday night from 7-9 pm. located in the Mettam Lounge of the First Presbyterian Church of Cranford located at 11 Springfield Avenue, Cranford, NJ.  The focus of the support group is to equip those who have suffered loss or change within their lives with useful tools for the daily walk toward the journey toward wholeness and to facilitate the group toward self empowered healing.  The ongoing support group meets every week and ongoing new members are welcome at any time.

A six week seminar is offered twice a year in the fall and the spring.

The next seminar will be held September 25-October 30, at the First Presbyterian Church in Cranford.   Come learn about-  “What is grief and how do we grieve?”, the tasks of grief and redefining yourself, how to take care of yourself and cope with loss, how to make choices and handle the holiday and special occasions, creating a meaningful memorial, and examining your spiritually.  All losses are homogeneously grouped. The last session includes a special remembrance service and opportunity to walk the labyrinth.  This enriched seminar has helped close to 900 people from the community and surrounding area in coping with their grief and journeying on to find meaning and joy in their lives.

This seminar and support group was created by Patti Williams in response to her late husband’s concern for those who have suffered loss to learn how to cope with the loss and find meaning in their faith. He was Dr. Rev. Bruce Williams, the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Cranford.  She is very dedicated to this ministry along with the trained facilitators.  To register for the seminar or for information about the seminar or support group please call the church office (908) 276-8440.
