My name is Daniel A. Velez-Acevedo but you can call me Danny. I am the Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries at FPCC. I’d like to say that it is a tremendous blessing for me to be part of this loving community at FPCC. Thank you for the precious opportunity to serve the church. I am originally from Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, but moved to Princeton, New Jersey, in 2013. I graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary obtaining Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Education and Formation specializing in Youth and Young Adult Ministries. While studying at PTS, I served in various congregations including English, Spanish, and Korean-speaking (Presbyterian, United Methodist, and Non-Denominational) churches as Youth Pastor, Bible Study Leader and as Worship Leader. Also, I coordinated several outreach and mission projects and trips to Puerto Rico, Guatemala, New Brunswick, Basking Ridge, Trenton and Paterson.
I currently live in Princeton, NJ, with my wife Heelee J. Velez, who is working on her PhD in New Testament at PTS, and our two adorable cats, Lily and Rocky. In my free time I love to play music (I majored in classical percussion in college!), play board games, ride roller coaster rides, and enjoy good coffee.
