Water Collection a Huge Success for “Operation Chillout”

Volunteers and Members of the First Presbyterian Church Load 117 Cases of Water to Support Homeless Veterans!

For the past 2 weeks, the First Presbyterian Church of Cranford has been the collection site for cases of water to be donated to homeless vets in NJ.  The program was initiated by “Operation Chillout”, a 100% volunteer organization which supports veterans who are homeless. There are 300 homeless vets in Union County and 9,000 homeless vets in NJ.
Through the efforts of the Cranford Clergy Council and the citizens of Cranford, 117 cases of bottled water were collected.   Close to 3,500 cases were collected statewide.
Volunteers pictured loading the truck are Scott Wands, Jean Wands, Scott Kurowsky, Jeff Berns, Skip Winter, Kevin Murphy of “Operation Chillout” and his grandson.
