Welcome Daniel Velez to the Pulpit!

We’re so delighted to have our Director of Children Youth and Families provide the sermon this Sunday! Daniel is originally from Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and moved to Princeton, New Jersey, in 2013. He graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary (PTS) obtaining a Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Education and Formation, specializing in Youth and Young Adult Ministries. While studying at PTS, Daniel served in various congregations including English, Spanish, and Korean-speaking (Presbyterian, United Methodist, and Non-Denominational) churches as Youth Pastor, Bible Study Leader and as Worship Leader. Daniel also coordinated several outreach and mission projects and trips to Puerto Rico, Guatemala, New Brunswick, Basking Ridge, Trenton and Paterson.

Daniel currently lives in Princeton, NJ, with his wife Heelee J. Velez, who is working on her PhD in New Testament at PTS, and two adorable cats, Lily and Rocky. In his free time he loves to play music (he majored in classical percussion in college!), play board games, ride roller coaster rides, and enjoy good coffee.
