You’re Invited to Celebrate Easter!
The First Presbyterian Church of Cranford, 11 Springfield Ave., Cranford, NJ, is offering multiple opportunities for both family-friendly and individual reflective worship during the Easter season. Services include traditional and unique worship experiences.
PALM SUNDAY, April 5: Worship at 10:00AM celebrating Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. All will gather in the main Sanctuary and wave palms while the children process down the aisles, praising and singing. All children are welcome to participate in the processional!
MAUNDY THURSDAY, April 9: Held in the church’s Snyder Memorial Chapel at 7:30PM. This worship service will commemorate Jesus’ last supper with His disciples before His passion. The service will consist of reflections on traditional scriptures and communion served in an intimate setting.
GOOD FRIDAY TENEBRAE SERVICE, APRIL 10: Held in the main sanctuary at 7:30PM. Tenebrae, meaning darkness, is characterized by gradual extinguishing of candles, and by a “loud noise” taking place in total darkness near the end of the service to signify the closing of Jesus’ tomb. Worshipers leave in silence to ponder the impact of the death of Jesus and await the coming resurrection.
TRADITIONAL EASTER SERVICE, April 12: 10:00AM in the main Sanctuary. Full choirs, glorious music and beautiful flowers symbolizing rebirth will enrich the celebration of Christ’s resurrection. Hear the magnificent new organ as organist Bob Grube plays the acclaimed Widor’s Toccata. And to top it off, all are invited forward at the end of the service to sing Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus. Whether you are a parent with children, a young adult, a young at heart senior citizen or somewhere in between, this worship service is meant for YOU to hear the good news of Jesus Christ! Childcare will be provided for infants to 5 year-olds. Your little ones are welcome to stay in worship, but if you elect to put them in childcare, there will be a fun activity to keep them engaged and entertained.

And don’t forget to come back on May 10 for our special Mother’s Day Children’s Musical. The tradition of First Presbyterian Church of Cranford is for Mom’s and their families to enjoy a service 100% led by the children’s choirs. This year, even our littlest ones in the Cherub choir will have a cameo role in the musical!
